Add Flour, sugar, and coconut, mix to incorporate.
In the same bowl, add the baking powder, salt, and cardamom, and mix with the other ingredients.
Add the milk gradually till you get a thick batter. Let it rest for 5-6 minutes.
While resting the batter, add oil to the pan and heat it on the stove.
With the help of an ice cream scoop, scoop a spoonful of batter and drop in the hot oil.
Allow it to fry on both sides until it is golden brown.
You can replace cardamom with nutmeg and cinnamon. You can use your palm or use 1 tablespoon to scoop the batter into the oil.
Notes
Adding water to a recipe like this should be done gradually because of the type of flour. I used high-protein flour (grade A), which requires more water. Therefore, I advise you to add milk gradually. My children do not like sugary snacks, which is why I used 110 grams of sugar. Their feedback was that it's slightly sweet, which we are fine with. You may add 10=20g more if you want it sweet. I used unrefined organic sugar, which is less sweet than regular sugar.
