Materials
25 mlCoconut oil
47gramsButter
3gramsOregano
3gramsThyme
4gramsRice spice or 2 seasoning cubes
1large Bay leave
1smallHabanero pepper
4cloves Garlic
550mlCoconut milk
4gramsTurmeric powder
2gramsBlack pepper
750gramsRice
Instructions
Soak rice overnight or for some hours. Gather all the ingredients
Cut the onion into two equal parts. Dice one part and blend the other with habanero and a clove.
On medium heat, place a pan on the stove. Add the oil, let it heat a little, then add the diced onion, thyme, and oregano. Fry till the onion is translucent, then add the turmeric and black pepper.
Add washed, drained rice and toast until it becomes golden. You can test it by pressing one grain with your finger; if it's hard, it's ready.
Add coconut milk, salt, the blended onion mixture and broth.
Cover and let it simmer for 12 minutes. Switch off the stove and let it rest for 10 minutes.Serve with your favorite protein.
