Materials

  • 25 ml Coconut oil
  • 47 grams Butter
  • 3 grams Oregano
  • 3 grams Thyme
  • 4 grams Rice spice or 2 seasoning cubes
  • 1 large Bay leave
  • 1 small Habanero pepper
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 550 ml Coconut milk
  • 4 grams Turmeric powder
  • 2 grams Black pepper
  • 750 grams Rice

Instructions

  • Soak rice overnight or for some hours. Gather all the ingredients
  • Cut the onion into two equal parts. Dice one part and blend the other with habanero and a clove.
  • On medium heat, place a pan on the stove. Add the oil, let it heat a little, then add the diced onion, thyme, and oregano. Fry till the onion is translucent, then add the turmeric and black pepper.
  • Add washed, drained rice and toast until it becomes golden. You can test it by pressing one grain with your finger; if it's hard, it's ready.
  • Add coconut milk, salt, the blended onion mixture and broth.
  • Cover and let it simmer for 12 minutes. Switch off the stove and let it rest for 10 minutes.
    Serve with your favorite protein.
