- Add Flour, sugar, and coconut, mix to incorporate.
- In the same bowl, add the baking powder, salt, and cardamom, and mix with the other ingredients.
- Add the milk gradually till you get a thick batter. Let it rest for 5-6 minutes.
- While resting the batter, add oil to the pan and heat it on the stove.
- With the help of an ice cream scoop, scoop a spoonful of batter and drop in the hot oil.
- Allow it to fry on both sides until it is golden brown.
You can replace cardamom with nutmeg and cinnamon. You can use your palm or use 1 tablespoon to scoop the batter into the oil.
Notes
Adding water to a recipe like this should be done gradually because of the type of flour. I used high-protein flour (grade A), which requires more water. Therefore, I advise you to add milk gradually.
My children do not like sugary snacks, which is why I used 110 grams of sugar. Their feedback was that it's slightly sweet, which we are fine with. You may add 10=20g more if you want it sweet. I used unrefined organic sugar, which is less sweet than regular sugar.
